Nutrition

Producers know that good nutrition is essential to maximize a flock’s potential. Today, nutrition is also playing an increasing role in stimulating immunity and fighting common gut diseases. The growing use of vaccines for coccidiosis and necrotic enteritis is also helping producers tailor nutrition programs to suit the needs of the bird, not the rotation schedule on in-feed drugs.

One such effort, the IDEA concept (Impulse, Digestibility, Economics and Advancement), seeks to enhance immunity development and reduce intestinal challenges by coccidia and bacteria without the use of drugs.

With improved genetic potential comes increased demand on the intestinal tract for maximum digestion and absorption. Based on the intestinal physiology of the modern broiler, the IDEA concept is a simple, innovative approach that redefines the birds’ nutritional and management needs during critical phases of grow-out.
