Aviguard®

Aviguard is a freeze-dried product composed of normal intestinal bacteria from healthy adult chickens. It acts by the process of competitive exclusion to prevent colonization by transient pathogenic bacteria such as Salmonella, E. coli and Clostridium perfringens.

Aviguard contains over two hundred different types of bacteria, which colonize the intestinal tract. It is not a probiotic.

The product can be used alone or in conjunction with Salmonella vaccines to broaden protection against different serotypes.

Aviguard should be applied as early as possible in the bird's life. It can be applied by coarse spray for day-old birds or through the drinking water for older birds.
